Phoenix Beverages Limited (PBL) sponsors once again the most awaited horse racing event in Mauritius- the Maiden Cup that will be held on Sunday 6 September, 2009. Coincidently, its flagship brand, Phoenix Beer was launched on Sunday 6th of September 1963, propitiously during the Maiden Cup.

The Mauritius Turf Club (MTC) and PBL have gathered the horse owners, jockeys, trainers and the public at La Place du Caudan for a draw exercise regarding the stall number allocation.  In this light, the MTC took the opportunity to thank PBL for its support in organizing such a prestigious event.

Today, Phoenix beer, forms part of the Mauritian culture. PBL markets on this day, a special edition of the Phoenix beer cans with a new design that depicts the symbolic Phoenix bird and horse racing activity, under the tagline ‘nu pays, nu maiden’ (our Country, our Maiden Race).
